What do you do?

You fly into London at 9am. Have to be at the train station on your way to Paris the same day by 6p or 7p. You are alone in London for the day. What do you do?

No seriously, I'm taking suggestions. Last week in August.

And yes, I will be riding the tube/buses. Not just in mere defiance but to also just get around.

Go to the British Museum; it is the largest collections of stolen goods anywhere in the world and quite impressive!

I agree w/the British Museum, huge display of Egyptian artifacts, largest collection outside Cairo I believe. University of Pennsylvania also has a rather good selection of Egyptian artifacts. France (under Napolean of course) has to have the largest cache of pilfered artifacts in the Louve. When in Paris if you have time to check out the Louve, get there extremely early, this time of the year the wait can be especially brutal (August is the absolute worst waiting time)

go to the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace for the changing of the guards, Picadilly is always good for a laugh, Kensington Palace is beautiful. There is also a museun for palace guards that is pretty interesting. You could also go to see the Cabinet War Rooms. My family spent a week in London last year and it was great. Harrods and Hyde Park are cool also as well as the London Eye. Have fun.

If you have time to visit Leeds, look up a man named Francis Dwyer. He's my Uncle whom I was named after. Last time I saw him was when I visited in 1973. Been a really long time, kind of wish I were going back.

Thanks for the invitation. Having never been to England, I don't know what you should do. Great Blog!

Definitely British Museum and Westminster Abbey; if it's a nice day take a brief boat tour up the Thames.

I'd love to contribute, by the way. Just tell me what to do.
