The former presenter for a popular MTV-style music video program was shot and killed in her home in Kabul last week. Shaima Rezayee, 24, hosted the daily music program “Hop” on the private television channel Tolo TV until March.

It seems that killing women in Afganistan and other Muslim countries is both overlooked and accepted.

It's not just accepted in Afghanistan. No one in your country or mine is doing anything about it because it's just too far away. Like Somaliland or any of those places, if one side in whatever conflict was black and one was white then the west would take notice. Because they're both "foreign looking" the west just lets them fight amongst themselves
